Having worked agency side for over 10 years, I have the experience needed, to know where efforts should be best spent to maximise ROI for your organic SEO investment.
Over the last 14 years, I’ve worked at some of the leading SEO agencies where I’ve had the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best SEO’s in the industry today!
This has given me a chance to lead search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies for some large national and international brands over the years in some of the most exciting but also challenging industries such as Sports Betting, Finance and Health to deliver results.
I’ve had the privilege of working with clients such as Bloom & Wild, Ladbrokes, Paymentsense, Wren Kitchens & Thortful to name a few.
I took the leap of faith to become a freelance SEO consultant in April 2021 and subsequently set up Rob May SEO Ltd in October 2021. I’ve loved the journey so far; meeting new people, building new working relationships and having seen some great results for many of my clients, it makes it all the more rewarding.
Outside of SEO, you’ll find me snowboarding in the Canadian Rockies or the French Alps, and when I’m not throwing myself down a mountain, I’ll be spending time in the Yorkshire countryside with my lovely wife Emma and our three year old cockapoo Yogi.
No two websites are the same, so my SEO strategies are always tailored to; your industry, the organic landscape and how competitive the keywords you’re going after are.
Like most things worth working for, SEO takes time and consistency to see results, but I believe that any client can get a good return on their organic SEO spend if the strategy is personalised to both your business goals & objectives alongside what your target audience actually want to engage with.
My strategies are often split into three main areas of work; Onsite Technical SEO, Content (both strategy & execution) and Digital PR / Link building. The percentage of where efforts are best spent will change accordingly but the core focus for me is to improve your Expertise, Authority and Trust (E-A-T) which feeds directly into Google’s core algorithm updates.
Good in-depth keyword research is often the starting point and backbone of the strategies I put together, both to help spot opportunities for organic growth, and to identify how new and existing content can be better optimised for your audience – based on the search intent of your target keywords.
Making sure your website is being crawled & indexed by Google effectively & efficiently and that it is best optimised for the keywords you want to rank for. Examples of what my audits include are:
Improve performance for people searching for your products / services in close proximity to your business or for ‘near me’ search queries. This includes:
Spending time with internal SEO teams for both clients and agencies who don’t have the time or resource to invest in developing their employees SEO learning. This includes:
Auditing your existing content against both keyword research & what’s performing well in the SERPs to make improvements and create new content suggestions for the site.
In-depth keyword research to highlight opportunities for organic SEO growth. This includes:
Whether your moving to a brand new domain or migrating to a new CMS, I can help make the transition as seemless as possible making sure that historic traffic & rankings are being protected. This includes:
